February is just around the corner and it’s time to sharpen Cupid’s arrows, so why not plan to treat the special person in your life to an unforgettable sojourn in that most romantic of cities, Paris? On the occasion of Valentine's Day, the team of the Hotel Paix joins with the angels of love to offer an exceptional break in the magical places of the capital. Follow us for a preview of the journey that awaits you on the occasion of the celebration of the most wonderful feeling in the world.
A route for lovers
Start by making a tryst with the elected of your heart under the arcades of the sublime Place des Vosges. You can explore the art galleries and sit in the central garden amidst the sumptuous early 17th century architecture. Then make your way across the Marais, a picturesque district of mansions, designer shops and small neighbourhood cafes and cross the Pont Notre Dame to the Ile de la Cité. Here, you’ll find that the view is breath-taking and understand why Paris is called the City of Light. As you pause on your romantic stroll, don’t miss the opportunity to seal your love with a kiss by the Seine.
Let Cupid guide your footsteps
As you cross the Seine the Left Bank opens its arms and Cupid serves as your guide! Hand in hand, wander the Rue Saint-Jacques or the Boulevard Saint-Michel. A little way along, after you pass the Sorbonne, you’ll turn left onto the Rue Soufflot and make your way to the Pantheon, that magnificent neoclassical mausoleum, before retracing your route to the Jardin du Luxembourg for a bag of roasted chestnuts or maybe a hot chocolate in one of the Latin Quarter’s delightful cafes. Then, it will be time to return to the hotel to relax in a scented bath before enjoying a candlelit dinner for two at the foot of a sparkling Eiffel Tower.
